Belgium Death Metal Sensations CARRION Sign With Wormholedeath

Belgium Death Metal quintet CARRION signed a deal with Wormholedeath for their third album "Morbid Nailgun Necropsy", due for release on March 3rd, 2023.

The band stated: We are proud to announce that we signed with the Italian label Wormholedeath Records for the release of our third album “Morbid Nailgun Necropsy”. The album is recorded by Lander Cluyse at Hearse Studio. The mix and master are done by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio (known for their work with Aborted, Benighted, Electric Callboy, etc.)
If you are a fan of fast modern Death Metal with groovy and dark touches then this is the album you’re looking for!

Carrion is a Death Metal band founded by Mathieu Vander Vennet, Sven Van Severen, and Jan Van den Berghe in Hansbeke (Belgium) in 2008. Back then we were still teenagers playing some covers while slowly creating our own music and sound. We released our first album “Revelations” in 2012, the album is a nice mix of all kinds of subgenres (death, thrash, core, groove, etc.).

After “Revelations” the band started taking things more seriously and became a full-blown Death Metal band. The second album “Time To Suffer” was released on the Danish label Mighty Music in 2018. There were also 2 music videos created for the songs “In The End, There Is Only Death...” and “Defiled Sanity”.

Carrion played some memorable shows so far like Wacken2016, MetalDays2017, MetalDays2018 (main stage), 2x Antwerp Metal Fest, and as a support act in club shows for bands like Suffocation, Memoriam, Blood Red Throne, Necrot, Cannabis Corpse, etc.

Carrion is known for an energetic live performance with punching riffs, tight drums, and diverse styles of extreme vocals. Now the focus is on the release of our third album “Morbid Nailgun Necropsy”. We are very proud of the result and we are sure the album will take Carrion to a next level!

Finnish Metallers LAMORI Drop New Single & Video "REQUIEM"

REQUIEM is LAMORI's 3rd single taken from the upcoming album NEON BLOOD FIRE.

Requiem is a death hymn of epic proportions. Its majestic foundation is very much inspired by Tibetan Buddhist chants. Influenced by the poem A Carcass by Charles Baudelaire, singer Matias J. came up with the lyrics one cold winter night, after having witnessed the death of a swan on the frozen sea. It will take the listener on a journey both mesmerizing and macabre, with a very progressive approach to its musical structure. Exist in Ruin is a symphonic black metal/melodic death metal project founded by Seattle, WA-based guitarist/songwriter, Teren. Instrumentally, the main influences inspiring the sound of Exist in Ruin are leaders in their genres; Dimmu Borgir (Symphonic Black Metal), and Amon Amarth (Melodic Death Metal.)

​Lyrically, this self-titled Exist in Ruin EP takes the listener on a dark rollercoaster ride through genocide, tyranny, religious persecution, mental illness, malpractice, and the supernatural. Persecution is the overwhelming theme throughout where each song tells a story of a ‘victim’ being persecuted by some entity, malpractice, or inner turmoil.

All songs (guitars, bass, and drum programming) are written and performed by Teren, including lyric writing and vocal pattern designs. During the writing process, Teren recruited world-class musicians from around the globe to make his dark musical vision a reality.

​Featured artists include stunning accompanying symphonic compositions from Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze, Catalyst Crime, We Are Sentinels, Structure of Inhumanity), world-class Soprano, classical, and metal vocals from Jessy Christ (NZGL, Syndro-syS), brutal vocals from César Moreira (Enblood, Cult Burial, and Nephilim), virtuoso guitar solos from João Miguel (Enblood, Nephilim, Stonesun, Adamantine), and additional guitar solo shredding from top-notch session guitarist Konstantin Raydovski. Malus Dextra hails from St. Louis, MO. where guitarist Justin Ruesch (former D-Railed/Brutal Harmony) resides, formed in 2017 after recruiting vocalist Wayne Allison (former A Strand of Fate/Victims of Life) with the intent to bring the world music that was not limited to boundaries of genre and subgenres. Although the core of the band is metal the music speaks to the masses for fans ranging from Killswitch Engage to Slayer to I Prevail, the two entered Encapsulated Studios to record the debut “Self-Titled” album, released Oct 31, 2017, and was supported with mid-west and upper east coast touring in 2018. The band's second full-length album titled “The Gate” was released Oct 31, 2020, supported by mid-west touring, followed by dual releases “Bangin Bionic Beats” a 6 song EP featuring tracks from both the “Self Titled” and “The Gate” remixed and reimagined by John McLucas from McLucas Studios (CA), and “A Somber Moment” a 6 song softer acoustic side from the artist recorded at Encapsulated Studios with producer/engineer Gabe Usery, both Eps released on Oct 31, 2021. Shortly before the recording of “A Somber Moment” the band welcomed two new members, Bassist Alex Smick (former Warheadd) and Guitarist Justin Keane (Blackdeth). 2022 Malus Dextra have once again stepped into Encapsulated Studios to record tracks for their 3rd full-length album titled “III” making this their 5th studio album released. The album is slated to be a multipart release with “Part 1” released in late 2022. “Tomorrow” the first single from the album released March 25th, 2022 on all streaming platforms.

French Black Metal Band DEPRESSIVE WITCHES Drops "Distant Kingdoms" Music Video

 

"Distant Kingdoms" is the opening track taken from Depressive Witches'upcoming album "Distant Kingdoms", due for release on November 25th, 2022 via Wormholedeath worldwide. 

The band speaking of the album, stated: “We are excited to reveal this new album, which is the perfect mix of our main influences: black’n’roll, heavy metal, and classic rock. Music is perfectly serving the album theme, which is focused on epicness, battles, and exploration of new worlds, as we did for songwriting. “Distant Kingdoms” is a black metal album with so many influences, really rare in this genre. We kept our punky sound and mixed it with folk melodies, always with this “in your face” style, this is why fans loved the first album. We see being a duo band as an intense and intimate way to play music, and not a reduction of sound diversity, so we’re not afraid to mix every sound we love.”

Even just being two musicians on stage, they leave nothing behind and can fill out the space with their massive sound and dynamic energy.

Black Metal band Depressive Witches was formed in 2018 in Picardy, France by brothers Sick Bab (Baptiste Robert) on vocals and guitar, and Torvuus (Paul Robert) on guitars and drums. Linked by both blood and a passion for black and extreme metal, creating music together was only natural.

In 2021, they released their debut album “Bad Flask”, which leaned heavily into the traditional black metal influences of the duo and contained lyrical themes revolving around witchcraft, curses, and epic fights. The release was recorded by Jonas Sanders & Ivan Houben, and mixed/mastered by Jonas Sanders at Blackout Studio, in Brussels.

2022 witnesses a new album from the band "Distant Kingdoms" again recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jonas Sänders. In contrast to the first album, it pays homage to its rock influences and contains more solos and clean vocals. An anomaly in the black metal scene, it is a mix of black metal, punk, heavy metal, joyful & darkened riffs, like black’n’roll but more festive and epic. Lyrically it looks into adventures, magic battles/war, and high fantasy which take inspiration from RPG video games with medieval themes, nature, and black magic.

The name “Bolverk” is originally one of Odin’s personas. He used the name Bolverk when he went out to steal the mead of poetry, and there was a lot of blood-splatter and killing in the process. Later adaptations see the word used as a description for something solid and impenetrable. We even have it in our local dialect as “bælværk” where it means something like a big, sturdy unformly mass. Anyway, all this, maybe apart from the unformly mass, are things that comply with our music. Melody, poetry, brutality, tightness and a sturdy and down-to-earth attitude.

The title of the album, “Uaar”, means a bad year in older Norwegian language. This was usually used when the crops failed and people starved. It fits well with the state of the world for the last two years, we think.

Release date for the album is the 27th of May 2022. A lot of material is already written for its successor which will be unleashed as early as late spring 2023. The release of “Uaar” will be accompanied by a release-party the 11th of June, where we will treat you to free music that will challenge your listening skills and everything will be filmed and recorded for a live video.

French Extreme Metal Legionaries DEOS have signed with Wormholedeath a worldwide deal for their album "Furor Belli", which is due for release on May 27th, 2022.

Speaking of the upcoming release, the band explain:
Ave Populus Furor Belli is a more raw and more direct album than the 2 previous ones. This is mainly due to the new lineup. Indeed François (guitar) and Harsh (keyboards) left the band in 2020. Cedric joined the band as a guitarist and we decided not to have keyboards anymore. So the music became more raw, more brutal and more direct. But it remains at the same time melodic. Cedric has fully contributed to the writing of the album since his arrival and his style has been perfectly integrated. His great rhythmic ability has elevated the martiality of the music! This album is a good mix of Black, Death and Thrash in an old school style. The music and lyrics on this album reflect the trials and tribulations of the last 2 years due to the pandemic and the lineup change. Rage, frustration, anger but also hope and friendship have forged Furor Belli. And for the 1st time we have 2 guests on 2 different songs which gives even more diversity to our music. As always with Deos, the themes are based on the history of Rome, but these same themes are still relevant today. They are the reflection of the life of the band and the current world context. The lyrics are more thoughtful and more personal even if they can seem more brutal, more cruel and more warlike than those of the 2 other albums. Now you just have to joins us and discover it .

Playing "Roman Extreme Metal" style, the band DEOS was formed in May 2014 by Fabio Battistella, Jack Graved and Loïc Depauwe. They wish to combine the sounds of Black and Death Metal with their passion for ancient Rome, which through the lyrics, graphics and stage play. After some shows in Annecy, Chambéry, Saint-Etienne or Geneva, their first album, Ghosts of the Empire, was released in December 2015 and conquered the Rhône-Alpes public with a fast, heavy and melodic style. In September 2016, with a new keyboardist, DEOS starts the recording of its second album whose artwork is entrusted to Brice Cumin and mastering to J.-F. Dagenais at JFD Studio (Kataklysm, Ex Deo). The following year, the band signed to Buil2kill Records and the second album In Nomine Romae was released in October 2017. From 11 to 15 October of the same year the band performs with the Italians of ADE during the "Rising Across the Alps tour ", followed by the " Bellum In Helvetia tour " as well as for several dates in France and in Switzerland during the year 2018. At the beginning of 2019, DEOS plays with Scuorn and Kyterion during the "Parthenope European tour". The band also participates in the first album of the Greek-Roman singer Ellenika by writing the track The Goddess and the Warrior. At the end of the year, they record an acoustic EP offering a selection of their first two albums. During the year 2020 Harsh (keyboards) and François (guitar) left the band. Cedric "Cedd" Boehm was hired as the 2nd guitarist. The year 2021 is dedicated to the composition and recording of the 3rd album Furor Belli. The mastering is once again entrusted to J-F Dagenais at JFD Studio, and the artwork to Brice Cumin. The band changes label and signs with WormHoleDeath. The release is planned for spring 2022 and will be followed by the North Imperial Tour MMXXII.

'The Maze' :
"It is the story of a woman who wanders in a world that she does not understand and to which she cannot adapt to because it does not suit her.
The labyrinth is the symbol that I wanted to give to the adventure that awaits her, littered with obstacles and dead ends (Alexis, Celestial Burst).

Celestial Burst is a French Progressive-Rock band launched by Alexis Lustenberger in 2012 as a solo studio project, Celestial Burst became a two-persons band in 2020 when Alexis was joined by Singer/Actress Kenza Laala to work on the lyrics and contribute to the vocals. After some sessions @ Hesat Recordings, Celestial Burst is proud to present its debut EP called 'The Maze' where the duo invited the Dutch diva Anneke Van Giesbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend...) as vocal guest on the title-track of the record.

U.S. Doom / Sludge band ZANE have signed with Wormholedeath a licensing deal for the EP "She has Wings", due for release on April 22nd, 2022.

After struggling with addiction Zane knew the best way to take out his frustrations was making another EP, this one being heavier than ever. He locked himself in his studio for days and began
recording about the things on his mind. Everything from thoughts of suicide, violence, destruction, and anarchy. This project has a nice influence of Doom, Sludge and Southern metal.

Zane started playing guitar at the age of 7 after getting his first guitar for christmas. Officially starting his music career in 2016 under the name Yelept after he received his first bass guitar. months later he publicly released his first album with much success. Zane has always been a one man band to ensure he reaches his idea of perfection without obstacles, occasionally featuring other artists as guest appearances. Zane has mastered playing multiple genres over the years. Although always returning to his metal roots, his backbone.

Danish Metal Band STEELBOURNE Drop New Lyric Video "Defiler"

 

"Defiler" is a track taken from Steelbourne's album "A Tale As Old As Time", due for release via Wormholedeath worldwide.

Defiler is one of the heavier tracks on the album while also being dramatic and theatrical. This one is a blast to play because of the big change in pacing between the main riffs. 

The video fits the vibe of the album perfectly, and Defiler, in particular, fits the bill of eerie medieval fantasy-vibes colliding between rampaging guitars, thunderous rhythms and majestic vocals. Please enjoy this one; Defiler!

Steelbourne was initially a lockdown studio-project, designed to finish unreleased material by their previous band. Steelbourne honor the legends of old, being deeply inspired by giants such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Candlemass and Accept while incorporating contemporary elements into their music, aiming to provide a modern take on classic heavy metal.

Santiago-Boston Old School Death Metallers OVERTOUN have signed with Wormholedeath a deal for the reissue of their album "This Darkness Feels Alive", which is due for re-release on May 27th, 2022.

Bringing back the brutal force and sounds of Old School Death Metal mixed with Latin American music, the revolutionary young band from Santiago/Boston has been spreading their talent, passion and energy all over the world, characterized with their outstanding musical quality and powerful social commentaries.
The group was born in the hands of Agustin Lobo (drums) and Matias Bahamondes (guitars) in early 2014, but they were not complete until the addition of Mexican vocalist Yoav Ruiz-Feingold, who joined in late 2017. They’ve not stopped working since the release of their debut album Centuries of Lies (2018), which originated from a demo tape called Eyes Wide Open (2016), that establishes a strong social commentary blended by the rage of Progressive Thrash. Going through various lineup changes, their toured their home country twice, getting a lot of recognition in national and international media.
Just in the past year, the renowned bassist Felipe Leyton joined them, finishing their search for an established lineup. Their hard-working attitude led them to write and record their sophomore album in a matter of months since the release of their first LP. They took their perfectionism to another level, searching for the best production quality in every aspect. Their second album ‘This Darkness Feels Alive’ is a record that goes inside the hell of the human mind, alongside a crushing attack of pure and organic Death Metal and It will be reissued via Wormholedeath worldwide.

This Darkness Feels Alive’ was produced/engineered/mixed by Chilean producer Pancho Arenas (Recrucide, Audiopsicotica, Austral, GEN, etc.), who exploited the band to reach their next level. The drums were recorded in the renowned Chilean studio Estudio del Sur, and it was mastered by legendary Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica) in Sweet Silence Studios, Denmark. The vocals were engineered by Anthony Medaglia (Atheist) at Sonic Titan Studios in Massachusetts, US.

The cover art was designed by the great Italian painter Paolo Girardi, best known for his work with Power Trip, Witchhunter, Blasphemographer, among other bands. This album also features musicians Joe Stump (Alcatrazz, Tower of Babel, Solo Artist) and Awka Mondaka (Nunca Seremos Dichosos) as guest artists in the tracks ‘Underneath’ and ‘Made Manifest’ respectively. The band already has two promotional tours booked in Brazil and USA postponed due to the pandemic.

A collaboration between Adriano Ribeiro and Tom MacLean (ex-Haken/ To-Mera), Athemon is an anglo-brazilian metal band that seeks to forge the perfect alloy of darkness and beauty. Out of a love for progressive and intricate music, two musicians crossed paths online during the beginning of the Covid global lockdown to create an everlasting experience. Living on different continents, bassist/producer Tom MacLean (To-Mera, ex-Haken) in the UK and vocalist and guitarist Adriano Ribeiro in Brazil, used the digital world to their advantage and give rise to their new band Athemon.
“Adriano sent me his demo and it gave me goosebumps, so I was keen to get involved,” says MacLean. From a significant evolution between demos to their final introductory recordings, MacLean and Ribeiro created a bonding friendship over musical interests that created the perfect environment to allow them to evolve and conceive their debut full length. Formed as a gateway to express their art using progressive metal music, Athemon will debut their self-titled album on October 11th, 2021. The concept record is meant to be heard as one long 50-minute track divided into nine parts that will engage listeners on a journey that’s enigmatic, deep in sentiment, and inject a fresh outlook of self-perception during its intense and dark progressive atmosphere.
For the album’s recording, the band invited a special guest drummer from Brazil, Gledson Gonçalves who added his percussionist touch to compliment each one of the nine tracks.
“As nobody goes alone in this world (even being totally alone inside one’s own mind), the songwriting process had a lonely beginning, but a very collaborative end. The beginning of this project was driven by Adriano, but nothing would fit so well if it wasn’t for the amazing connection the three of us have (Adriano, Tom, and our special guest on drums, Gledson),” says MacLean.
The lyrics for the album were written by vocalist/guitarist Adrian Ribeiro and were inspired by thoughts of how confusing reality can be if you are not taking care of your emotional side. “The thin line between what’s real and what’s not is an endless world,” adds Ribeiro.
New fans of Athemon, can expect much more to come from the pair as they already have plans to launch their second album by the end of 2022, which they are currently composing with promising results.
As for the live spectacle of Athemon, for now, the band will let the music flow until the duo can connect from across the Atlantic for their first in-person jam session.
Fun Facts:
Until 2013, Tom was the original bassist in Haken and guitarist in To-Mera. He believes he’s one of a very small group of people to have opened for Dream Theater in two different bands.
