Bringing back the brutal force and sounds of Old School
Death Metal mixed with Latin American music, the revolutionary young band from
Santiago/Boston has been spreading their talent, passion and energy all over
the world, characterized with their outstanding musical quality and powerful
social commentaries.
The group was born in the hands of Agustin Lobo (drums) and Matias Bahamondes
(guitars) in early 2014, but they were not complete until the addition of
Mexican vocalist Yoav Ruiz-Feingold, who joined in late 2017. They’ve not
stopped working since the release of their debut album Centuries of Lies
(2018), which originated from a demo tape called Eyes Wide Open (2016), that
establishes a strong social commentary blended by the rage of Progressive
Thrash. Going through various lineup changes, their toured their home country
twice, getting a lot of recognition in national and international media.
Just in the past year, the renowned bassist Felipe Leyton joined them,
finishing their search for an established lineup. Their hard-working attitude
led them to write and record their sophomore album in a matter of months since
the release of their first LP. They took their perfectionism to another level,
searching for the best production quality in every aspect. Their second album
‘This Darkness Feels Alive’ is a record that goes inside the hell of the human
mind, alongside a crushing attack of pure and organic Death Metal and It will
be reissued via Wormholedeath worldwide.

This Darkness Feels Alive’ was produced/engineered/mixed by Chilean producer
Pancho Arenas (Recrucide, Audiopsicotica, Austral, GEN, etc.), who exploited
the band to reach their next level. The drums were recorded in the renowned
Chilean studio Estudio del Sur, and it was mastered by legendary Flemming
Rasmussen (Metallica) in Sweet Silence Studios, Denmark. The vocals were
engineered by Anthony Medaglia (Atheist) at Sonic Titan Studios in
Massachusetts, US.
The cover art was designed by the great Italian painter Paolo Girardi, best
known for his work with Power Trip, Witchhunter, Blasphemographer, among other
bands. This album also features musicians Joe Stump (Alcatrazz, Tower of Babel,
Solo Artist) and Awka Mondaka (Nunca Seremos Dichosos) as guest artists in the
tracks ‘Underneath’ and ‘Made Manifest’ respectively. The band already has two
promotional tours booked in Brazil and USA postponed due to the pandemic.
Full of dark and enigmatic atmospheres, the self-titled
record is a 50-minute concept album divided into nine songs, which tells a
story about self-awareness. The instrumental consists of two guitars, a bass,
and drums that together form an ideal atmosphere for those who enjoy a deeper

A collaboration between Adriano Ribeiro and Tom MacLean
(ex-Haken/ To-Mera), Athemon is an anglo-brazilian metal band that seeks to
forge the perfect alloy of darkness and beauty. Out of a love for progressive
and intricate music, two musicians crossed paths online during the beginning of
the Covid global lockdown to create an everlasting experience. Living on
different continents, bassist/producer Tom MacLean (To-Mera, ex-Haken) in the
UK and vocalist and guitarist Adriano Ribeiro in Brazil, used the digital world
to their advantage and give rise to their new band Athemon.
“Adriano sent me his demo and it gave me goosebumps, so I was keen to get involved,”
says MacLean. From a significant evolution between demos to their final
introductory recordings, MacLean and Ribeiro created a bonding friendship over
musical interests that created the perfect environment to allow them to evolve
and conceive their debut full length. Formed as a gateway to express their art
using progressive metal music, Athemon will debut their self-titled album on
October 11th, 2021. The concept record is meant to be heard as one long
50-minute track divided into nine parts that will engage listeners on a journey
that’s enigmatic, deep in sentiment, and inject a fresh outlook of
self-perception during its intense and dark progressive atmosphere.
For the album’s recording, the band invited a special guest drummer from
Brazil, Gledson Gonçalves who added his percussionist touch to compliment each
one of the nine tracks.
“As nobody goes alone in this world (even being totally alone inside one’s own
mind), the songwriting process had a lonely beginning, but a very collaborative
end. The beginning of this project was driven by Adriano, but nothing would fit
so well if it wasn’t for the amazing connection the three of us have (Adriano,
Tom, and our special guest on drums, Gledson),” says MacLean.
The lyrics for the album were written by vocalist/guitarist Adrian Ribeiro and
were inspired by thoughts of how confusing reality can be if you are not taking
care of your emotional side. “The thin line between what’s real and what’s not
is an endless world,” adds Ribeiro.
New fans of Athemon, can expect much more to come from the pair as they already
have plans to launch their second album by the end of 2022, which they are
currently composing with promising results.
As for the live spectacle of Athemon, for now, the band will let the music flow
until the duo can connect from across the Atlantic for their first in-person
jam session.

Until 2013, Tom was the original bassist in Haken and guitarist in To-Mera. He
believes he’s one of a very small group of people to have opened for Dream Theater
in two different bands.

WRATH OF THE NEBULA is a PROGRESSIVE DEATH METAL band formed in 2018 by Hokuto No Dov and Vital Geff, having previously collaborated in several musical and artistic projects. In 2019, joined by Kevin Paradis, phenomenal drummer, the music developed by the duo takes shape and the recording sessions of the pre-productions begin and reveals from that time on, the artistic direction chosen to set the themes of the songs.
